One in five dogs are diagnosed with canine osteoarthritis, the most common cause for chronic pain in dogs. Symptoms of OA can be hard to identify, with more than 50 percent of OA cases going undiagnosed until dogs reach eight-years-of-age or older. A new diagnostic tool – the Canine Osteoarthritis Staging Tool, or COAST – can help your veterinarian recognize and treat OA from its earliest stages.
